Reimagining business

without losing ourselves

We are redefining what business can be by creating an alternative workplace for ourselves and those we work with. We support small businesses and entrepreneurs who are unsatisfied with the status quo, nourishing sustainable business practices, and protecting their peace.

A vision for meaningful, grounding work

We believe it’s not just what you do, but how you do it. We will deliver work that is both creative and calming to your nervous system by prioritizing:

  • Impact over optics—We focus on meaningful and lasting change, not faking it until we make it or performative actions

  • Process over hustle—We love timelines and structure, we’re just reframing them to support sustainable, intentional growth, not glorified busyness that leads to burnout

  • Peace over profit—We want to help you make a living for you, your team, and your community without sacrificing any souls for financial gain

We are all works in progress. Embodying these values can sometimes seem unattainable in the status quo. We are up to the task and want to work with you if you are, too.

Meet the Collective

The Indigo Collective is Jessica McMillan and Stephanie Espinoza.

We have been working on creative projects together for over 15 years.

In that time, we found a collaborative partnership built on trust, curiosity, and (no shame) enjoying the f*ck out of our work. Despite changing employers, products, and teams, we always found a way to balance our respective creative skills and deficits with the other’s and create cool stuff in a way that felt aligned and exciting.

While we don’t claim to have perfect solutions to every issue facing good, honest work today, we are up for challenging the norm and building a cooperative that supports small businesses doing work that matters without burning themselves out.

  • I want working with me to feel like you are being welcomed into my Nashville home, cup of peppermint tea immediately in hand. It is my nature to pour into a space: how it feels, who is welcomed in it, and the interplay of it all. Over a decade of program management in both local and national nonprofit organizations, where belonging was foundational to powering a mission, will do that to you.

The core of what I do is a lot like being with me in my kitchen: I am most integrated when I can foster creative hubs so people can commune, be nourished, and do their best work. I have spent the last five years partnering with small business owners on everything from high-level operational design to roll-up-my-sleeves project delivery in the name of protecting their creative joy. A deep respect for the wisdom of cycles—personal, lunar, and seasonal ones alike—inspire me to move slowly, with intention and resourcefulness.

So, come on in to talk about what you are needing most right now. I'll show you around the garden, introduce you to my pup Autumn, and, if it's helpful, we can share more about what shapes our experience of this beautiful world we live in (ENFJ, Enneagram 9, Cancer⇡ / Virgo𖤓 / Sag☾, Manifestor in Human Design, and Highly Sensitive Person). Let's make your work space a place of peace and deep creativity.

  • I am a jack of all trades and master of some. A words-obsessed strategist, writer, creative, researcher, tinkerer, and dot-connector at heart, I instinctively pull apart the ethos and mechanisms of, well, everything. I do my best work when I have the room to alchemize my unique point of view to support people/businesses I respect and who also like knowing where the lines are so they can color outside them. I want to lend my words and blue-sky dreams to work we'll feel proud of when we're gray and forgetful.

My background of over 16 years of professional work spans nonprofit, education, health, and tech as a program manager, writer, proposal manager, and numerous other hats not captured in job titles. I've mopped up pre-teen vomit at summer camp, traveled the world to share stories and collaborate on global visions, and spoken about culture on stages before thousands. Through it all, I’ve grounded in my identity as an immigrant, bilingual, cisgender woman—privileges and struggles alike.

Come for work that is equal parts exciting and fulfilling, stay for the personality type enthusiasm (INTJ, Enneagram 8, triple air sign) and someone to reach when you find yourself in the incomparable San Diego, CA.
